Joining a family member to a relative with status

Let us provide you with important information about this service and make an initial assessment of whether you qualify and whether you would like us to help you.

If you are a national of an EU country, your close family members can only join to live with you in the UK if all of the following conditions are met:

you are staying in the UK until 31 December 2020 and have settled or temporary status
you have a family relationship with the applicant since before 31.12.2020 and can prove it with document(s)
these family ties of yours exist at the date you apply to join.

Your relatives can apply FROM and OUTSIDE the UK if they have a valid passport with a biometric chip (if applying from the UK, they can also apply with an ID card). This does not apply to young children living with their parents in the UK.

If you do not qualify for this settled status scheme, then your relatives can join to live with you in the UK by applying for another type of family visa.

What does your relationship need to be?

The following are eligible to join:

children
parents
spouses
grandparents
partners with whom you are married.

These people must have been close family members of yours before 31/12/2020. In some cases there are additional requirements and we therefore recommend that you have a consultation to clarify individual circumstances before requesting the service.

Siblings are not allowed to apply to join.

What is the cost of our service?

Our fee for the joining service starts from the following base prices:

for children under 21 from £130,
for children under 21 but without a passport or ID card – from £220
for spouses from before 31/12/2020 – from £165,
for unmarried partners and those married after 31/12/2020 – £250
for parents, grandparents and children over 21 – £165

For more complex cases, writing additional letters and explanations, the service is more expensive. The specific cost is specified in the pre-consultation and may change if new circumstances arise during the course of the application.
