British citizenship - naturalisation

Assistance with applying for British citizenship/nationalisation

Acquiring British citizenship is a procedure that requires paperwork, payments and a lot of time.

To become British through naturalisation the general requirements are:

  • you must be over 18
  • have been legally resident in the country for 5 years (or 3 years if married to a British citizen)
  • you must not have been outside the UK for more than 450 days in 5 years (270 days in the last 3 years if married to a British citizen) and 90 days in the last 12 months
  • you must have had permanent status (ILR or PR) for more than 1 year (if you are married to a British person, this rule does not apply)
  • have a level of English (minimum B1)
  • have passed the Life in the UK test

Documents for both tests are NOT REQUIRED for people over 65 or with a medical diagnosis due to illness.

  • intend to continue living in the UK
  • apply for naturalisation
  • provide two referees to vouch for you and whose personal details we will need
  • pay the required fee
  • and provide the required documents.

If your application is approved, you will be invited to an official ceremony at which you will swear allegiance to the Queen and the United Kingdom and then receive your certificate of naturalisation as a British citizen. Only then can you apply for a British passport.

How can we help you?

HELP4BG can assist you professionally throughout the process of naturalising as a British citizen. Atanas Chikov is a licensed Level 1 immigration adviser with OICS. He can be contacted on 077 86 06 70 76 , or email directly on FB Messenger or at [email protected]

We provide a mainly remote service by contacting you and the UK services via the internet and telephone. We check and complete your paperwork, registration and communications.

If you also require a pre-paid consultation with an Immigration Adviser about your particular circumstances – please book a time in his schedule at the following link: https://calendly.com/help-bg-consult/30min

What is expected of you?

Only a few simple actions are required:

  • check that you meet the requirements listed
  • if yes – email us at [email protected] asking us to send you information about the procedure
  • collect the documents to be attached
  • fill in our form correctly with detailed information.

How much will the service cost you?

The cost of the Home Office is £1630 and can be paid at the centre itself when you attend, but there are other options depending on the case.

Our fee starts at £590 for an adult and £450 for a child, depending on the complexity of the case and our commitment.

For applicants over the age of 65 we discount this by £50 and our fee for them is £540.

For two adults in a family – £1060.

There is an additional charge for scanning and processing the documents. This can be done through another company at the point of sending the documents, and you pay separately to have the documents examined. The other way is for us to do it at a cost of £50. For the more complex cases with a letter of explanation there is an additional charge of £50.

There are also discounts for families.

We will let you know payment details when you contact us and request them.

If you would like us to rectify a previous application of yours that has been refused, our cost is £100 more – from £690.

How long does the procedure take?

We start the service after receiving your request by email – write to us at [email protected]

Home Office usually takes 2-3 weeks to respond, but can take several months.

Our company will also be able to assist you with preparation for the Life in the UK test in the near future

We offer assistance with applying for a British passport for a child or adult where they are already eligible.
